About

I work with adult clients struggling with anxiety, obsessions, and the effects of trauma. Many of my clients come to therapy with a great deal of self-doubt, avoidance, and shame, and I provide the compassion and challenge needed to create real change. We will go beyond talking about your week; we will focus on the places where you are stuck using acceptance-based approaches to change. This means we will work on helping you accept the current reality and change those things that are within your control. If you feel ready to shed old learned patterns, but feeling afraid or unsure about how to do that, I may be a good fit for you.

I'm a licensed clinical psychologist, professor, and writer. I primarily use acceptance-based cognitive behavioral therapies (ACT) but I also integrate other types of therapy. I am a licensed in CT and MA, and I'm authorized to see clients via telehealth in 42 states (see psypact.org), which works well for college students and clients traveling for work.

In our first sessions I will spend some time getting to know you, your history, and other factors that may be contributing to your struggles, and then together we will create a treatment plan to best address your needs. I aim to understand my clients as whole people, not just a set of symptoms or a diagnosis, so I can provide the best possible care.
