I do my best work with people who have experienced years of disappointment and hurt. Many of my clients struggle with divorce, drug use, family problems, childhood hurts, church hurt, bullying, sexual abuse, bereavement, guilt, low self-esteem, and trauma. Many of my clients have been in therapy for more than three years and have, for the most part, given up on treatment because they do not feel that it has helped them. I work well with people who feel no one cares about them and want to give up. My specialty is Person-Centered therapy. The client is the expert on their feelings. My job is to walk with them through the maze of their psychosocial challenges and help them begin to believe in themselves and discover the beautiful person that is preparing to emerge from the cocoon of their present stressful challenge. It is vital for clients to know that all human beings experience emotional discomfort, which affects each person differently. Learning how to navigate our feelings and emotional challenges is difficult. Time, understanding, and support are the bridges to restoration and recovery in the aftermath of human loss and crisis.
