About

Author Ralph Waldo Emerson reminds us to “Go confidently in the direction of your dreams”. However, pursuing our dreams may be difficult when we are disconnected from ourselves, hurting, broken, and/or in a place of despair. Other times, we may feel numb or like we are ‘going through the motions,’ confused, or apathetic to the point of no longer dreaming. Wherever you are in your healing journey, I am here to help.

I support adults and teens seeking evidenced-based approaches to tackling life transitions and stressors, anxiety, grief and loss, and trauma inclusive of narcissism abuse. Based on your therapeutic needs and goals, a variety of modalities are utilized: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), and Mindfulness.

Having served as a counselor and educator for over 25 years, my previous work and award-winning book has been highlighted in media. I earned my bachelor’s and master’s degrees at University of Texas at Austin. Old Dominion University is where I completed my PhD. I now focus on the mental health challenges that can derail us from living the life we desire.
