My clientele seek help with a wide range of issues including depression, anxiety, couples distress, trauma, parenting difficulties, relationship conflict, and major life transitions. Although I tailor the treatment plan to meet each couple's or individual's needs, the majority of my interventions are drawn from the cognitive-behavioral toolset. I seek to understand strengths, as well as the problems that bring people into my office. Using well-timed humor, relevant research information, and meaningful feedback, I collaboratively design treatment plans that feel "doable." Usually, my clients feel relief in the first few sessions. It is a privilege to have worked in diverse settings such as community mental health, inpatient, and college mental health centers. While in private practice, I have continued to hone my own skill set, which can require giving honest, yet tough, feedback in a compassionate, usable way. A sizable portion of my practice is couples therapy. Some people are more concerned with privacy than others. Please know that my waiting area is separate from the exit to my office, which reduces the chance of crossing paths with other people. In addition, there is a quiet side entrance into the building.
