My life work is to bring to you the possibility of being able to live a full life, in work and relationships. In my 30 years of practice, I have worked with people in private practice, inpatient and partial hospital settings, and schools. My typical client is someone who is working to meet the challenges of transition, such as going to college, getting married, divorced, changing careers, losing employment, dealing with the death of a loved one, or experiencing very difficult unpredictable events. I see continuing education as being extremely valuable. I am continuously deepening my learning through additional training and reading. My shorter-term work entails solution-focused therapy including stress management and mindfulness training. My longer-term work utilizes my intensive post-doctoral training in psychoanalysis and in traumatic studies. This work is particularly helpful in resolving the deeper psychological issues that continuously impact the quality of human relationships. I grew up in Africa, lived in Europe, and now I am in USA. My varied life experiences, including living through a time of political and social upheaval, and great losses, has taught me about the power of resilience, the importance of connection with others in times of extreme stress, and the great capacity for love despite all the hurt inflicted upon one.
