As a therapist for individuals and couples, I provide a safe setting to develop self-awareness and understanding, and to explore a wider range of emotions. In my view, people have an innate drive to heal and develop, and some wisdom about how to go about this. But there are obstacles, and becoming aware of and finding ways to handle these obstacles can be a complex, at times difficult process. You may have had past experience with therapy that does not seem to go deep enough. We work to understand the underlying issues that cause distress. Couples frequently come to therapy when they are in crisis, or stuck and near-hopeless. We work to improve communication, satisfaction, and functioning as a couple. In a strong relationship both partners support each other's healing and growth as a person, so we strive to activate this. I am able to offer some evening appointments, and generally can offer a first appointment promptly. If you have overcome hesitations and are ready to engage in therapy, I do my best to facilitate the beginning, working with you to ease the inevitable stress in that process.
