Therapists » Clinical Social Work/Therapist
Developing a relationship with a compassionate, skilled therapist who can help you be present with current life stressors or past traumas, can be an important part of healing. In my practice I work with adults and adolescents with a variety of issues but specialize in issues related to sexual trauma (childhood or adult), childhood emotional/physical abuse, domestic violence, lack of parental attunement, and growing up in a home where alcohol and drugs were abused. I also work with couples who are experiencing challenges in communication, connection and how past trauma effects this. I provide clinical supervision to therapists. I focus on creating a peaceful safe space to work on understanding yourself and developing skills to deal with the issues that are holding you back from being who you want to be. I am sensitive to cultural, racial, religious, gender and sexual identify issues and how family and societal messages may play a strong role in your growth and development. I am a certified Gestalt Therapist and will help you become more present and aware of your body-emotions. I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing (EMDR), Internal Family Systems (IFS) and inner child work. I was the Director of Counseling at Women Organized Against Rape and have practiced at women & youth centers.
