I work with individuals struggling with the effects of unresolved trauma, which can look like experiences of anxiety, depression, and panic attacks, as well as challenges in relationships and sex life. My counseling incorporates a mind/ body approach that is based on an understanding of the neurobiology of trauma and that is highly attuned to cultural and societal context so as to promote more possibilities for healing. My aspiration is to support my clients to feel keenly aware of their sense of empowerment, agency, and wholeness in the present moment rather than feeling defenseless against overwhelming emotions and bodily states. I apply effective mindfulness, somatic, and social justice approaches to support clients to feel skillful as they explore their deepest concerns. My clients appreciate having space, time, and choices in our work where we focus on specific goals while also tending to their lives holistically, all based on what their needs are in general and from week to week. As a queer therapist of color, I am committed to respecting and celebrating the diversity of human experience. Our work together will be attuned to your unique lived experience so that you may navigate life’s internal and external challenges with a greater sense of possibilities in a way that makes the most sense for you.
