As a licensed clinical professional counselor, licensed school counselor and learning behavioral specialist, I help children and adolescents utilize healthier forms of coping and achieve inner joy. My clinical interests and expertise include generalized anxiety, disruptive mood dysregulation disorder, oppositional defiant disorder, parent-child conflict and behavior regulation. In addition to working with children and adolescents, I specialize in parent education. I offer guidance to caregivers who are looking for coaching or support. I help parents utilize firm and empathetic limits, model ideal interactions for their children, and regulate behavior in ways that foster resiliency, self-regulation and emotional security. The caregivers I work with often come into their first session feeling discouraged, dejected and overwhelmed. They’ll say, “I’m out of ideas. We’ve tried everything.” I get to reassure them that a path forward does exist. I help caregivers implement an affective, research-based parenting approach that allows them to rediscover the joy of parenting.
