I am a licensed clinical psychologist offering depth psychotherapy for adults and older adolescents. I am dedicated to working collaboratively with my clients, with the goal of generating personal growth and lasting change. We begin with an exploration of symptoms and initial problems, then widening therapy to include the history of major life attachments, sense of self, personality and current life events that impact quality of life. With over twenty-five years of experience, I've found the most potent approach is to work from an attitude of curiosity, warmth, determination, and compassion. My therapeutic method is based in a pychodynamic orientation, integrating other therapeutic approaches when appropriate, to assist patients in recognizing and addressing personal fundamental issues and self-defeating patterns. I provide individuals with strong support to help decrease emotional distress, manage conflict and face difficult life moments. I treat a broad range of psychological issues, including mood and anxiety disorders, unresolved grief and loss, trauma and abuse, eating disorders and body image issues, relationship concerns, chronic illness and adjustment to new roles or challenges. In addition to private practice, my experience includes work in hospital and community health settings.
