Hi there, my name is Claudia Perez and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) based in San Diego, California. I'm here to create a lighthearted space for clients to unpack various areas in life such as childhood adversities, generational trauma, relationships, grief, traumatic events, substance use, and family dynamics, among other significant areas. This may be your first time sharing your story with someone; I applaud you for taking the first step in your journey to healing and growth. Therapy can be most effective when you identify the challenged life experiences and utilize specific coping skills to move forward. My approach to goal setting with clients is to validate your reality, define what you want to accomplish during this time, and track your progress. Our first session will be spent with me learning about you, understanding what led you to pursue therapy and your goals. Majority of the time will be spent with you sharing about yourself, while I ask questions to better understand the best way to move forward and collaboratively work with you through your journey of healing and growth.
