I became a therapist to help others. More importantly, to assist others in learning to help themselves. This is especially true with adolescents, young adults and their families. We can often be both the reasons for and products of poorly functioning family environments. I enjoy getting to know teens, adults and families as we identify their shared goals and needs. My best days come when clients and families laugh more than they cry, love more than they fight and succeed more than they struggle. With better knowledge, skills and communication, we can create more positive environments for yourselves and others Though I focus largely on teens and college students, I also have knowledge of issues and challenges facing adults and families. I have years of experience helping clients address and overcome anxiety disorders and the ways that stress overwhelms our daily lives. I also have training in the treatment of trichotillomania and other body focused behaviors. I am happy to link clients and families with additional services and have assisted many parents/guardians in navigating the waters of school-related needs and resources.
