My primary work is with children, adolescents, parents and families. I provide treatment for a wide range of childhood mental health concerns, as well as specialized help for parenting issues or families experiencing a crisis. My work is comprehensive, paying attention to family, school, medical and environmental issues that underly problems. Depending on the situation, I may work with children directly, engage in parent coaching/consultations or interface with other providers and schools to improve the conditions for wellness. I am also a educational specialist and work with children and schools to promote best outcomes. I am a cognitive-behavioral psychologist by training with experience in other diverse and evidence-based modalities. My approach is very relational and pragmatic with an emphasis on the psychological barriers that interfere with wellness, practical problems in need of ongoing management or solutions, and the treatment of psychological symptoms. I have an optimistic outlook about your wellbeing and I am also directive when that can be helpful. I am a skilled and passionate advocate for my clients when circumstances are creating significant complications. I also provide Intensive Family Consultations, short-term and problem-focused meetings designed to promote clarity and identify action steps.
