About

I provide therapy for adolescents and adults with all anxiety disorders using mindfulness based cognitive behavior therapy (CBT). Specifically, I work with people who have obsessive-compulsive disorder, posttraumatic stress disorder, generalized anxiety disorder, social anxiety disorder, panic with or without agoraphobia, and specific fears such as driving, flying, getting needles, you name it. I integrate mindfulness training with CBT because exposure to what is feared can feel overwhelming without mindfulness training or some other way of weathering extreme fear.

I offer brief interventions that focus on improving your life. Although I do learn about your past and your hopes for the future, much of our therapy energy will focus on your life as it is in the present and on making changes in living that you can implement outside of sessions.

Mindfulness training teaches a person to be present for each moment without unecessary suffering and without all of the wasted energy that occurs in anxiety disorders. Mindfulness helps a person to transform anxiety symptoms into opportunities for growth. In essence, through mindfulness a person can change their relationship wih fear.
