I am a LCSW-R who works with individuals, couples and families to promote more peaceful and fulfilling relationships. I work primarily from a family systems perspective which looks at how family relationships inform the way we view ourselves and relate to others. Reconnecting with each other and learning to communicate more effectively is an integral part of therapy. I am especially passionate about working with couples, utilizing my training in RLT (see relationallife.com for further info), which effectively resolves issues and helps couples rebuild their relationships to be more connected, loving and joy filled. I also have training in DBT, which incorporates mindfulness and other skills, in order to reduce emotional turmoil and increase a sense of well-being. DBT incorporates CBT, where thoughts, emotions and behaviors are looked to better understand problematic behavior and to make more effective choices. In addition, I take a holistic, nonjudegmental approach in addressing the impact of lifestyle choices, such as nutrition, exercise, alcohol/substance use, and use of technology. When possible, I like to help individuals increase their time spent in nature as an antidote to the stresses of everyday life.
