About

When I decided to become a counselor 8 years ago, I wanted to help people like me. So many of us grew up believing that in order to be accepted, we had to do things perfectly. We learned that if we struggle and need help, that means there is something wrong with us - that we're too lazy, or not smart not enough, or just too needy. So we ended up carrying a lot of our burdens alone so we wouldn't bother others or let them down. But if you're like me, you've probably had moments where you just wanted to stop trying to live up to everyone's expectations, and you just wanted to be yourself.

I've learned a lot through my years of study and through my own journey of mental health. I've studied techniques for calming chaotic emotions, unraveling difficult thoughts, reducing compulsive behaviors, managing challenging disorders, and repairing broken relationships. I've worked with kids as young as pre-K, and with adults in their final years.

I would love to share what I've learned with you! But I'm not going to pretend to be the "expert" on your life. My main goal is to hear your story as best I can. If that's all you need, then I'm happy to listen. And if you want more, I'm happy to work with you so we can find the tools and strategies that fit you best. I hope to hear from you soon!
