About

I see counseling as a partnership between client and therapist. As a trained family counselor, I work with couples, parents with their children and with individual adults . I believe that generally people's behavior is an attempt to have their needs met and that by listening and honoring their efforts , counseling can help them redirect their efforts in a more effective and healing manner. I integrate my extensive experience as a child & family social worker with counseling practices to support couples and families ( including step&,foster-adopt families) to blend, communicate and heal from conflicts & separations.

My education and practice experience has focused on issues related to grief and loss , life stage developmental issues for adults and families , and addictions ..

I believe in a "body- mind-spirit" approach to counseling and I am trained as a spiritual director. As a part of this training, I offer to clients at their request, guidance and support as they work to understand how their spiritual yearnings may be integrated into their day to day life.
