Cara has extensive experience in the addiction field working in an intensive-outpatient and detox program, as well as crisis management. She identifies as a lesbian therapist and is highly knowledgeable in the areas that affect the LGBTQIA+ population. Cara’s areas of expertise include the treatment of LGBTQIA+ issues, Trauma, Codependency, Addiction, Anxiety and Depressive Disorders, ADHD, Life Transitions, Relationship Issues, Spiritual and Religious Abuse, Emotional Regulation, and more. She enjoys working with adult individuals, couples and non-monogamous couples. Cara is trained in EMDR, an evidence-based practice that enables clients to heal from the symptoms and emotional distress caused by disturbing life experiences. She also uses Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Internal Family Systems, Post-Induction Therapy, The Gottman Method and Relational Life Therapy for couples. Cara is focused on discovering the root cause of why you are struggling. Working together, you will explore your family of origin and patterns that keep you "stuck".
