About

Hello. I am Brian Betz, Ph.D. I have been a licensed psychologist in California for the past 25 years. I have an eclectic, client-centered approach to psychotherapy. I work collaboratively with clients to determine the best therapeutic approach/strategy to address their current challenges. I have an eclectic approach to providing therapy. The therapeutic modalities or modalities that I use are dependent upon each individual client's needs and include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Insight Oriented Therapy, Family Systems, Object Relations, and Trauma-Focused CBT.

I typically work with adult men and women who are experiencing work-related, relationship-related, or general life-stress-related challenges that have resulted in one experiencing symptoms of anxiety or depression. I identify as a gay man and thus am always happy to work with members of the LGBTQ+ community.

The process of "goal setting" with clients must be a collaborative process between the client and his/her therapist such that the client presents his/her goals and I, as the psychologist, help the client to determine a way to reach such goals, and if clinically necessary, to assist a client in redefining or further exploring his/her therapeutic goals.
