As a clinical psychologist with a background in athletics and fitness, I meet patients where they are, develop a strong working relationship, and identify strengths we can build off of all while maintaining cultural humility and awareness. Over the past nine years, I have found that this approach facilitates the reduction of emotional distress and improves self-esteem, decision making, and overall life satisfaction. My holistic approach can foster a more integrated, healthy, and powerful sense of self that is better equipped to handle life’s stresses during and after therapy. Prior to psychology, I received a full football scholarship to Boston College before graduating from Hampton University. This experience motivated me to combine my enthusiasm for sports and wellness by working as a celebrity fitness trainer at some of the most exclusive gyms in New York City where I helped many clients reach their mental and physical goals. Realizing the interrelated relationship between physical and mental health, I utilize my expertise in both areas to help patients more quickly overcome their stuck points so that they can move closer to reaching their full potential.
