The ideal client is open to receiving advice and implementing it into their daily lives. The client may have issues with substance abuse due to a lack of healthy coping skills. The client's needs are to improve the quality of work-life balance. It is also important for clients to learn healthy coping strategies to cope with anxiety, depression, and other underlying mental health disorders that are often the underlying cause of substance abuse. View 7 Photos Through the use of talk therapy, I have been able to support clients in their early recovery. I feel it is important to provide a non-judgmental, compassionate, and open approach. A strong therapeutic bond with clients is needed in which they can open up and express their own thoughts, feelings, and needs in a safe place. I feel it is essential to offer clients a place to express their thoughts and feelings openly without fear of reprisal. I believe in the treatment of substance abuse and other mental health issues. The importance of exploring childhood memories and, when necessary, begin to process traumatic experiences in order to heal fully.
