I view psychotherapy as a collaborative process. I work with clients to help them make important changes in their lives or to overcome difficult life circumstances and obstacles. I strive to understand each client as a unique individual and to build upon the inherent strengths that the person brings to therapy. My practice style is client focused--I am primarily interested in helping you achieve the goals you have for therapy. Our relationship is critical to the success of the work we do. I work hard to create a space where there is comfort and safety in expressing any distress that has created your need to seek help. I am empathic and non-judgmental, and will utilize strategies and methods that are consistent with the cultural values of my clients. Many clients start therapy uncertain of what they want to achieve. If this is the case we can work together to explore what would be most beneficial. The work often involves exploring current and past life experiences, relationships and life patterns.
