The most common issues that people seek help with include: feelings of sadness or depression, excessive worry, fear or anxiety, drug and alcohol abuse, codependency, enhancing and fine tuning one’s recovery program, relationship issues, grief and loss of a loved one, surviving trauma, life change or transition decisions, cyber addiction, dealing with other’s substance abuse, social anxiety and conflict at work. My education and training includes two post-graduate degrees, tenure at a major teaching hospital, chemical dependency programs and, employee assistance programs. I utilize cognitive behavioral therapy with psychodynamic influences. In addition, I like to provide concrete skills such as assertiveness and stress management to utilize in effecting change. I understand that coming in to talk to someone about a highly personal issue is very often a major step in one’s life. I honor this and also recognize that it is the beginning of resolution. My approach is solution-focused while we both come to understand what is in the way of you making the progress that you desire.
