Therapists » Clinical Social Work/Therapist
My approach to therapy is a collaborative one, informed by my clinical social work education, 37 years of postgraduate experience, and ongoing continuing education. I work most successfully with individuals who come to therapy with a desire for greater understanding of themselves and others, and an identified symptom/situation/problem/conflict to explore/resolve. Therapy can be short or long term as needed. Significant others may be included as part of treatment. Together we will explore your concerns, and develop strategies for meeting your goals. I am a provider for many insurance plans to make therapy affordable and accessible. Specialities include EFT informed couples therapy, family therapy, SPSP coparenting, parenting issues, adjustment issues, play therapy, EMDR for trauma, sexual abuse treatment, grief support, recovery support, and individual adult treatment for depression and anxiety. For those interested in my orientation, my work is based theories of practice derived from ego psychology, systems theory, EMDR, Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), developmental theory, attachment theory, nonviolent communication, parenting for social intelligence, and an understanding of emotional self regulation based on the work of Daniel Siegel, MD.
