About

Therapy as a collaborative process in which we work together to understand the problems that have brought you in, and work towards mutually established goals. Psychotherapy involves verbalizing your thoughts and feelings, exploring relational and behavioral patterns, and learning how past experiences may impact you now. Through this process we strive to gain greater awareness of how both conscious and unconscious processes play out in your emotional and relational life. Ultimately, therapy can help individuals come to better understand themselves and enjoy greater choice in their lives.

My experience lies with children, adolescents, adults, and families. For psychotherapy to be effective, it is essential that one find a good match and feel safe to explore any and all aspects of oneself. To this end, I take an open, empathic and non-judgmental stance.

I have extensive experience working with depression, anxiety, bereavement, trauma, parenting, relational difficulties, and identity issues. I work with adults of culturally diverse backgrounds, as well as gay and lesbian clients. My goal with relationships and families are developing healthy communication skills, acceptance, and respect.
