About

Hello! My name is Amelia and I am a Marriage and Family Therapist with Building Blocks Family Therapy! I have worked with a variety of mental health concerns having worked in community mental health for almost 4 years and a residential placement during my academic career. My experience includes working with children and teens ages 5 to 19 in individual or school settings. I believe in the importance of collaboration of the whole family system, and thus encourage the involvement of family members through family therapy.

My areas of interest include trauma, depression, behavior concerns, school related challenges, anxiety, transitions and adjustments, developmental challenges, parenting concerns, peer relationships, and emotion regulation and expression difficulties. I am currently under supervision as I am working towards full licensure.

I believe therapy can look however you desire, meaning I’m open to talk therapy or sitting on the floor to play or do arts and crafts. I desire for therapy to be a safe and comfortable place to discuss current concerns and challenges, but to not feel like you can’t enjoy playing even if you are considered an “adult.” I believe we can do great work together!
