About

Hello! Thank you for visiting my profile and for being open to this experience. I view the counseling process as developing a relationship between the counselor and client in which we explore and define the client's presenting issue. We would then work together to examine those issues and create counseling goals to improve the client's welfare. I strive to have my clients feel warmth, genuineness, and understanding within the counseling relationship. Trust and mutual respect are also needed components to enhance the counseling experience.

I approach counseling from an eclectic perspective with a great emphasis on Cognitive-Behavioral outlooks. My concern in the beginning is to establish rapport with the client so that he/she/they feel safe to disclose information that will be pertinent to the therapeutic experience.

Most of my experience has been in counseling adolescents. I began working with this age group when I started teaching in 2003. I continued my education to include counseling so that I would be able to offer more help to my students and their parents.
