Short- term 6-8 counseling sessions: I use a short term approach to support individuals by bridging the gap between where you are right now and where you want to be in the future! We will focus on either finding a solution to a topic that is distressing you and/ or focus on building your skill set for managing stressors. My main goal is to give everyone tools to live happier lives and feel better about themselves doing it. My interest is working with people through brief individual therapy, who may find themselves overwhelmed, stressed, depressed or anxious in their daily lives. My therapeutic style is supportive, warm, honest, and non-judgmental. I will be using mostly short- term cognitive-behavioral therapy, along with brief/solution focused and reality therapy techniques. Our sessions will be informational based psycho-educational, so you walk away with tangible knowledge and skills to implement during periods of distress. This will provide you with tools to use well after counseling ends, so you can be as independent as possible. We will meet every other week for a total of 6-8 sessions.
