Alicia Gist, LCSW Alicia Gist is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Virginia who has been practicing since 2015. She studied at Virginia Commonwealth University for her Undergraduate and Graduate Degrees in Clinical Social Work. Alicia meets her clients where they are, with an open mind and full non-judgmental attitude. Her approach combines CBT techniques to help clients identify negative or disruptive thought patterns with DBT skills to help them learn to cope with distressing thoughts/feelings and interactions with self/others/world around them. By identifying the way we think (the way we interact with self and others) we can better understand how to navigate those thoughts/feelings, and identify skills to help shift our thoughts/feelings that continue to have a negative and/or harmful impact on personal growth and happiness. In her spare time, Alicia enjoys synchronized ice skating with Richmond Synchro, spending time with her two kids and husband having random adventures, going to shows and music festivals, learning about art and going to museums, spending time with her two dogs, and playing the violin in her free time.
