Therapists » Clinical Social Work/Therapist
I believe therapy is a journey which can be challenging, emotional and difficult, yet ultimately exciting, and fulfilling. It's not a destination. My ultimate goal and objective is for you to live in your authenticity, to develop a relationship with yourself. As I see it, my role as a therapist is multifaceted, In that I will behave at times as your mentor, good parent, listener, one who offers support, and a witness to all of what you have to express. Many of us have rarely or ever experienced these behaviors growing up. Further, I believe in order to build the therapeutic relationship both you and I are active participants. Much of my work has involved working with men and their struggles with vulnerability, emotional expression, anger, rage, sadness, guilt, shame and fears. Every other week, I facilitate and lead a men's group. Secondly, I'm trained in couples therapy, using what is called the developmental model. One of the strengths and gifts I possess, is I have and continue to walk my own path of self discovery, and have for over 20 years. Meaning, I have worked on my own personal issues for years. I know first hand what it takes to evolve emotionally and spiritually. You also can experience your own grow, and live in your authenticity.
