About

When you look up strength on Google, you find several definitions, but one stands out: the emotional or mental qualities necessary in dealing with situations or events that are distressing or difficult. No one can control nor predict when difficult things will happen, but it is a guarantee that challenges do occur in every life. Resilience is defined as the capacity to recover quickly from difficulties; toughness; is the ability of a substance or object to spring back into shape; elasticity. There is strength in your resilience! Every human being has been endowed with resilience.

You can bounce back from abuse! You may bend to defeat/heartache/job loss/failure/marital issues/doubt but you are never irreparably broken. You may have lost your way and feel down and out. However, we can restore your inherent resilience by identifying and building your support system, your strategies to cope, and using your own strengths to heal.

I have years of experience with families, trauma, abuse, children/adolescents, and depression and anxiety. I have received level 2 training in Gottman Method Couples Therapy. I have received CBT competency, and have been trained in Play Therapy. We will work together to help you realize your strength is in your resilience! Visit sircounseling.com for more
