Making lasting change happens when therapy is warm, empathic, and secure. My approach to treatment is integrative and personally tailored. My hope is to join you in the pursuit of a life that you find more enjoyable and meaningful - one that is closely aligned with your deeper values. This usually involves working to understand your present-moment emotions, awareness of long-standing interpersonal dynamics that contribute to your problems, as well as practical solutions. In my practice, I work with adults in therapy with varied life concerns, including: relationship issues, job stress, marriage/divorce, parenting, health problems, aging, and retirement. Therapy can also focus on anxiety, depression, loss, and trauma. I was also a clinical professor at NYU School of Medicine for 10 years alongside my practice. I have clinical and research expertise in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and the treatment of PTSD/trauma and related disorders. My work experience includes inpatient and outpatient clinical settings in Texas and New York, and advanced training in evidence-based treatments for mood and anxiety disorders, including DBT, STAIR, and CPT.
